Main Research Interests

1- Nuclear Quantum Effects

  • Algorithms and methods for nuclear quantum dynamics
  • Proton tunneling through Hydrogen bonds
  • Materials under high pressure, including minerals

2- Surfaces and Interfaces

  • Atomic and electronic structures of oxide surfaces
  • Interfaces between solid surfaces and water
  • Adsorption and catalysis
  • Vibrational spectra of adsorbates
  • Simulations of surface growth, including Grazing Incidence Fast Atom Diffraction (GIFAD) experiments

These researches are largely based on the application of various simulation methods : the electronic structure is generally described through the Density Functional Theory, while current research is in progress in order to include the quantum nature of the nuclei in the description of their dynamics and statistical properties. Most of researches are conducted in close collaborations with experimental physicists and chemists, considering with attention interdisciplinary topics.
