Teaching
Beyond my research activity, I have been teaching (mainly at the Master level) and training many students, although the CNRS positions do not necessarily imply teaching duties. I am convinced that teaching implies many intellectual advantages, even for the instructors : it can help creating a dynamic and interactive learning environment ; the instructors are forced to make concepts easier to understand, thus pushing them towards an “out-of-the-box” way of thinking ; sharing courses could also inspire new research ideas and intellectual partnerships among colleagues in a collaborative environment.
Master in Material Science and Nano-Systems (“SMNO” master), Paris-6 University :
- (2003- ) Lectures and “Hands-on-Computer” sessions in the “Computational Material Science” Course, http://www.nanomat-master.eu/sites/...
- (2004-2012) Lecturer of the “Introductory Solid State Physics” Course
In addition, I have taught in many schools for graduate and undergraduate students, among which :
- (2015) « Linear Response and Density Functional Perturbation Theory », lectures and practicals, Paris Int. School on Advanced Computational Materials Science http://pisacms2015.sciencesconf.org/
- (2012- ) « Introduction to Density Functional Theory », lecture and practicals, École de Simulation Numérique, Paris http://www.insp.jussieu.fr/jsnum/
- (2008) « Pseudopotentials and plane-waves for electronic-structure calculations", lecture at the CNRS school « Description Quantique de la Structure Electronique des Nanostructures et Matériaux Complexes »
