Research Group on Gold Nanoparticles, abbreviated “GdR Or-nano”.
GdR Or-Nano brings together French researchers who are working on or with gold nanoparticles.
This group has been receiving financial support from the Centre National pour la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) for 4 years, since September 2006.
The main goal of GdR Or-nano is to develop a network of researchers working on/with gold nanoparticles in physics, chemistry and biology and to give rise to active collaborations
The following actions are in progress:
- An annual meeting to provide a scientific update of the research on gold NP in France and abroad lien
- The organisation of a summer school to share the knowledge gained during the last two years, to deepen concepts used in the differents fields, such as gold plasmon resonance,
- The development of contact with industry
- The connection between researchers of different backgrounds (chemistry, physics, biology) via a specially designed web site.
Main topics:
- Synthesis of gold colloids of controlled size in liquid phase
- Synthesis of materials containing gold nanoparticles of controlled size on or in solid substrates
- Physical methods of characterisation of gold nanoparticles
- Physical properties of gold nanoparticles
- Reactivity of gold surfaces
- Gold nanoparticles for biology
